Providence Health & Services Research Associate I in Santa Monica, California
Providence is calling a full time, day shift Research Associate I to Providence John Wayne Cancer Institute Santa Monica, CA.
In this position you will:
Assist in the study of the human body's response to fight infectious agents and cancer
Be responsible for the study of biologic pathways that contribute to resistance versus susceptibility to progressive disease
Investigate various mechanisms to yield new insights into the human immune system as well as provide novel targets for therapeutic intervention against a variety of infectious and skin diseases
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience
Laboratory coursework relevant to biological sciences
At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory
Knowledge of Sterile Tissue Culture and invitro cellular assays
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate work
Ability to work effectively with many people at various levels of the organization
Phlebotomy training and obtaining a license may be provided if the scope of work expands to the need to obtain blood from research subjects or patients participating in clinical research protocols
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Experience in a clinical setting, having had interaction with patients
