We are seeking a Manager, Catheterization Laboratory who will be responsible for human resource management, quality management, budget management, core work flow initiatives, facilitation of inter/intra-departmental communication, patient, staff and physician relations and the maintenance and monitoring of regulatory standards of care. Additionally may be required to assist with technical and patient care duties related to the procedures performed in Cardiac Cath. Lab. in an emergency setting or staffing crisis.
In this position you will:
Daily Management
Ensure adequate staffing to meet demands of department
Measure effectiveness of processes utilized to improve patient flow, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and physician satisfaction
Use data to drive process change and reengineer workflow
Investigate all major complaints, develops action plan in collaboration with clinical staff, and reports findings and expected action items
Manage department specific processes in collaboration to meet all regulatory standards
Identify special needs of patients, co-workers, physicians and their staff and communicate these to other team members
Review patient satisfaction surveys. In collaboration with unit councils, utilize a problem solving approach in resolving patient satisfaction issues
Participate in the development and management of best practice guidelines, using evidenced based approach specific to area of specialty, to ensure standards of care are being met
Identify potential areas of program/project development for service line, hospital, referral areas, or community, in coordination with Admin. Director, and staf
Assist in coordination of the gathering of data, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs/projects. Strategic planning and service line development
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all providers
Partner with Physician office practice management and staff to improve relations and quality patient care
Provide input to the marketing plan and identify ways to improve market share and attract new patients
Maintain positive working relationships between sites and SJHC resources; coordinates and integrates services such as radiology, laboratory, safety, infection control, information systems, pharmacy, etc.
Ensure compliance with JCAHO, state and regulatory agency requirements. Compile, review, and ensure compliance with department policies and procedures
Quality and Performance Improvement
Develop, plan and accountable for quality and performance implementation and outcome results
Chair and/or head at minimum one (2) LEAN improvement team annually
Decision Making
Explore information for decision-making and defines issues clearly integrating different ideas and perspectives
Emphasize long-term versus short term solutions to problems that arise, using a structured problem solving approach to correct the root cause of a problem
Provide necessary resources/cooperation so that innovative solutions can be implemented
Leadership Communication and Skill
Promote evidence based practice
Identify various constituents and develops appropriate communication approaches, suspending judgment until all points of view are fully explained and understood
Identify decisions that can be made alone and which need consultation with others and makes timely decisions, minimizing emotional and impulsive decisions and crisis management
Support, provide, clarify, and ensure adherence to SJHC, and departmental direction and policies and incorporates department within the strategic goals of SJHC
Effectively direct his/her group through change management processes and facilitates groups to achieve desired results reflecting the group's ideas and input
Encourage and use positive human resource practices throughout the department, including mentoring, using performance management techniques - setting objectives, providing feedback, evaluating results, defining roles and responsibilities with direct reports, training and developing staff, using coaching/counseling to improve or sustain performance and making effective hiring, promotion, transfer, disciplinary, and termination decisions
Business Acumen
Maintain current knowledge and a thorough understanding of the healthcare environment and keeps current on industry developments
Maintain financial accountability for assigned departments
Examine alternative methods of providing required services in order to reduce departmental supply and personnel costs
Combine ethical judgment with technical skills within the policy and legal guidelines of the institution
Use financial information for strategic and operational decision making and participates in the preparation of annual budgets for capital equipment, personnel, supplies, and other departmental costs

Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related field
RN with California License
BLS and ACLS required
LEAN certifications or receives LEAN certification within one (1) year of employment required
3 years Clinical experience in a Cath/Angiography Lab
3 years Supervisory experience in a clinical area
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a diverse, multidisciplinary team
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Proficient in P.C. software applications including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Apollo, etc. and ability to learn applications relevant to the position
Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate work
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to work effectively with many people at various levels of the organization
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to handle multiple tasks and appropriately prioritize
Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external customers, including, but not limited to, patients, co-workers, management, physicians, and visitor
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance to hospital policy
