We are seeking a Website Manager who will be under the general supervision of the Saint John's Cancer Institute (SJCI) Administrative Director, the Marketing Manager, Website and Digital Strategy is responsible for the daily marketing and digital strategic planning, development, execution and implementation for the SJCI related to the website, social media and marketing outreach. In this role, the manager will work closely with the Emagine Communications team, apply state-of-the-art best practices and possess an understanding of the oncology healthcare marketplace in Southern California, nationally and internationally. In support of the international effort, the manager will collaborate with medical tourism organizations. The manager will utilize SEO, PPC, and social media strategies to help build traffic to the website and the SJCI brand.

The manager will set and review regular volume targets of visits to the websites and 'conversions of patients'. Manager will also be responsible for working with and attracting media attention for news and noteworthy SJCI activities such as new publications, clinical trials and patient stories that highlight cutting-edge treatments available at SJCI. The manager will also oversee the development of printed communication materials (physician bios, community education events) and will help promote SJCI CME activities.

The manager possesses a strong business acumen and deep web and marketing expertise. They understand the big picture and are effective at leading efforts to understand customer goals and shape them into digital initiatives aligned with the Institution's larger strategies.

In this position you will :

  • Organizational planning, project management, developing web applications and overseeing the administration of web tools including a mission-critical, enterprise-level web content management system in support of the Institute’s web presence.

  • Devise the strategic direction and is responsible for budget expenditures for the website.

  • Monitor performance, analyze reporting, and create recommendations to ensure key goals are met.

  • Fluent in development optimization techniques to deliver the best user experiences in the most technically efficient manner.

  • Be an influential voice for best practices in design, web development, and technology, and be passionate about the role our web properties can play in providing value to users.

  • Develop, prioritize, and execute a roadmap of longer-term strategic website enhancements and immediate tactical improvements.

  • Proactively identify digital technology innovation and growth opportunities, build business cases, gain buy-in, and execute.

  • Works with internal stakeholders to develop effective web content for key initiatives.

  • Collaborative working relationships with internal clients to define goals, troubleshoot issues and implement solutions in all web properties and products, such as microsites and mobile app.

  • Maintain Bachelor's Degree awareness of web trends and best practices, current and future technologies.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic marketing plan

  • Support and advance key marketing initiatives across the SJCI Centers of Excellence

  • Identify quarterly marketing benchmarks and analyze and report marketing performance indicators

  • Develop and maintain SEO, PPC and social media campaigns for SJCI websites, Youtube and Facebook

  • Regularly update SJCI website and blog content using WordPress Content Management System

  • Promote SJCI patient stories, academic publications, clinical trials, technology developments and other noteworthy events to local and national news media Produce stories for staff and physician newsletters, clinical brochures, video/slide show scripts, web content, fact sheets, social media and blog articles

  • Develop annual SJCI marketing budget in coordination with SJCI Directors, Emagine and Providence Health and Services

  • Make recommendations and track media, advertising and other budget items within budget parameters

  • Work collaboratively with Emagine Communications and Providence Health and Services Marketing

  • Stay abreast of changes in healthcare marketing environment to best serve SJCI vision and strategic goals

  • Communicate and maintain strong, positive working relationships with internal clinical contacts including physicians, support staff and PNI management

  • Follow established SJCI policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.

  • Practice a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Five (5) years relevant experience in website development, management, content creation and/or related fields

  • Strong background in Digital Marketing

  • Understanding and experience with SEO, PPC and Social Media Marketing best practices

  • Background in Healthcare Marketing

  • Responsible, self-motivated, problem-solver with excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills with MS Excel and/or other database programs.

  • Practical experience and sound understanding of digital marketing, engagement analysis, analytics, web design, content strategy, and information architecture.

  • Working knowledge of SEO/SEM, e-mail marketing, data and analytics, and social media principles

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively with leaders and associates at all levels.

  • Well-versed in the fundamentals of digital marketing, advertising and branding

  • Effective verbal, writing, strategic thinking, conceptualization, presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Self-starter with ability to be productive in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance to hospital policy.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Wordpress, Google Analytics.

  • Hard-working, detail-oriented, innovative and with outstanding problem-solving skills and a commitment to excellence

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree

  • One (1) year healthcare, medical, or scientific setting

  • One (1) year website experience in healthcare, science, and/or medical related fields
